July 18, 2017 - This wine is actually predominantly Merlot, so the bottle label is correct. It is blended with Cab Franc as well - which gives it a fine structure on the palate.

Potent anise, cassis & stewed black fruits are hemmed in with integrated cedar-planked tannins. This blend has now come together nicely - bitter black cocoa and heady cloves overwhelmed the finish on an earlier bottle.

Bold and rustic...Not a bad way to finish.

February 12, 2016 - Dark red with high optical density. Medium plus intensity nose with medium complexity, showing dark fruits (currant, blackberry) and cedar box. Hits the palate with medium body and acidity, with dark fruit and spices on the attack that fade toward vanilla and stewed fruits (prune) at mid-palate. Finishes dry and with ripe tannin giving a lingering prune profile with just a bit of earth. Nice everyday wine (no flaws, but nothing special), but beginning to fade; would drink up!

September 6, 2015 - Deep red with stained tears. Very fruit forward nose of cherry, chocolate, olive, and Italian spice (think sausage!). Medium plus body, with good acidity, and tannins on the back end that lend support. Fruit forward on the palate, with cherry and plum that evolves into spice flavours at mid-palate, with a smoky finish of subtle oak spices. Nicely made, and drinking very pleasantly. This is a nice everyday wine- very fruity and ripe, and with little influence from oak. Well-priced people pleasing wine.
