February 5, 2020 - Two visits to Waiheke Island (Easter 2019 and New Year's 2020) (Auckland, NZ): Bottle tasting, small pour. Cabernet 87%, Merlot 10% and Malbec 3%. An attractive cooler New World-style Bordeaux blend. A peppery bouquet of blackberries and other dark fruit, crème de cassis, new leather and earth. In the mouth, attractively leaner with a good freshness and acidity (due to the site’s proneness to diurnal shift).
