Community Tasting Notes 9

April 28, 2020 - Obviously more evolved since the last bottle but not at all over the hill. Nose of cherry, marzipan, licorice and a touch of oak. Some dusty notes, too. Benefits from oxygen.
Palate still fresh with ample acidity. Medium mouthfeel and a bit subdued cherry and damson fruit flavors. Medium length and overall nicely balanced. Not a stunner but still drinking nicely and a food-friendly wine as well.

December 2, 2018 - I've been periodically drinking bottles of this over the past year and it has become better since the first bottle. More fragrance and fruit on the nose. Good balance of fruit, spice, and dusty tannins on the palate. Nice depth for a Bourgogne. Recommended drinking window states 2014 - 2018 but I think this is just hitting its stride. I have 5 bottles left so time will tell.

July 4, 2018 - Consistent flavors-profile as my last tasting from 1.5 years ago but much more open nose. Still impressive depth and length. What a great Burgundy value.

December 25, 2017 - Drinking nicely. Sweet black fruits on the nose remeniscent of Nuits St. Georges (where most of the grapes were likely sourced). Last bottle of my case, though I wish I left more in the cellar. Alas...

November 19, 2016 - Still quite restrained nose. Spices and a rusty-dusty note at the beginning giving way to cherries and red-berries. On the palate more evolved with for general appellation astonishingly complex aroma variety nicely supported by the fresh acidity and the soft tannins. Fruity, just a bit dusty, finish with sour cherries. Excellent price-value for a burgundy. Judging from the nose maybe even more to come in a year or so?
