August 25, 2022 - I honestly expected a bit more from this 2010 Brunello di Montalcino. While the color was good, a nice garnet, at the nose it was not so expressive giving awaymostly herbs and balsamic smell. In the mouth it was more full and intense, with tar, dark fruits and a bit of orange. It had a nice acidity but the tannins were still quite strong. The finish was better and quite long. I am not sure but I would actually old on this one for a while, maybe 3 to 5 years could smooth the tannins further.

April 29, 2022 - Double decanted. Needed an hour to wake up.

Not overly expressive nose. Red fruit, dried rose petal, touch of tomato leaf, but hard to get past the heat.

Palate in better shape. Elegant red fruit (cherry), dried red fruit, forest floor, dried herbs, and pepper. Feels like a tomato note is on the verge of appearing. Really pleasant mid palate, medium plus acidity, but too hot on the finish, which is harsh when combined with the firm tannins. Once that calms down it has a fairly pleasant lingering cherry note. Unfortunately, overeaxtracted.

Will give my remaining bottle 5 more years. A little disappointed given the vintage
