August 17, 2019 - Brickhouse Study (chicago, IL): Nose: This nose is pure magic and wonderment. It takes a few swirls to rev and let it fill up the glass with raspberries, red cherries, strawberries, incense, potpourri, rose petals, earth notes, herbs, spice tones, and violets. There is excellent depth with a real layered effect that keeps my nose in the glass soaking it all in.

Taste: The feel is Medium bodied with medium acidity and silky, medium tannins. The structure is fully resolved with the feel being pure satin backed up by tones of raspberries, red cherries, potpourri, herbs, violets, rose petals, earth notes, and some spice tones.

Overall: This is wonderful. I'm clearly describing the wine but in some ways it belies full description and just needs to be experienced.

August 17, 2019 - Brick House Survey (1995-2015): Pop n Pour. Full, aromatic nose of mature red fruit and smoke. The palate is so fresh with rich and round mature cherry. Still lush, while texturally complex. Held strong over 90 minutes. No rush and a testament to the terroir.

August 17, 2019 - Brick House survey (Chicago, IL): Awesome bottle -- there's some beautiful red fruit with a hint of strawberries here. Structural too with some good dusty earth elements. Still very much alive and fresh, these old Oregon wines just keep on impressing me.

July 7, 2013 - Very, very pleasant surprise. Bottle had been kept at cellar temp and not moved since purchase upon release. Still very bright red/purple, with only a hint of bricking around the edges. Great aromatics, red fruit and floral. Very fresh, full bodied upon first pour. Chocolate-covered cherries, a citrus note, and good zing on the finish. With air, savory notes of sweet tobacco and dried earth began to emerge, adding complexity. A glass was left overnight in the fridge, and the second day's glass was very much mature, with the cherries turned macerated, and the finish turned leathery, but still very enjoyable. Really an incredible bottle of wine, one of my favorites of the year.

September 9, 2012 - Slight brown color around edges. A soft slightly acidic nose. Very fresh tasting bright fruit dear ibex as cherries or currants in our group. Finish was slightly tart but overall an excellent bottle and a great surprise for a 17 year old Oregon pinot
Drank with a brick house 1998 which also showed well
