March 15, 2016 - Dark ruby red. Cherry and vanilla smels on the nose. Black fruits, bitter spices , pencil shavings and earthy notes at the palate with a distinctive acidity . Well balanced and elegant structured wine’s finish is rustic, medium-long length and delicious. There is ten percent merlot in the blend and it gives more complexity to the wine. Poggio Gualteri is little bit different than standart Chianti wines and I like it.

March 9, 2015 - Opened one hour in advance. Aromas of red fruit and menthol. Clean, smooth flavors of leather and cherry. Medium finish.
Balanced, classic, straight down the middle sangiovese. Some depth, not complex, good staying power. Very good value and an excellent everyday drinker.
