Community Tasting Notes 11

  • lozatron Likes this wine:

December 8, 2023 - Mongeard-Mugneret and friends (London Borough of Bromley): Served blind. Real sour cherry line to it. Clearly quality wine here - but give it time.

March 5, 2019 - mid bodied, took awhile to open up. an easy drink ...

  • milwaukeewino Likes this wine:

February 3, 2019 - Bright ruby, slight clarity at the rim.
Red fruit, tea, cola.Touch of earth, veg. Feels like a little oak is coming through, not overdone. Getting a little heat on the nose.
Balanced palate. Good tension. Gentle grip tugs on the long finish.
Big and juicy, a little rugged. Nice fruit, dark notes on the finish. Tannins are vert fine. Will go a few years but certainly giving it up now.

July 26, 2017 - Nose: The nose is elegant and on the demure side with rose petals, sour red cherries, cranberries, earth notes, wild flowers, leather, and a touch of allspice.

Taste: Medium bodied with medium+ acidity and medium tannins. The tannins are silky with the acidity poking through a bit backed up with sour red cherries, earth tones, leather, rose petals, and some wild spices.

Overall: This is a pretty and young Vosne-Romanee, This leans more towards the earthier side than the pure feminine side. This drinks well now, but it can certainly use 5-8 years to fully come together.
