June 9, 2023 - Minimum 10 years off being ready. Sour cherry, boysenberry, rhubarb, white pepper. Super high acid and tightly wound. Decanted for 2 hours and no changes. I can see the potential because of the acid, but this hadn’t developed any tertiary characters and was really quite simple at this early stage in its life. I was quite disappointed after reading the previous review because my bottle was not the same wine. This hadn’t developed much at all, and like Allen Meadows suggested, needs 20-30 years to evolve. Seriously wait another 10 years.

July 22, 2022 - Mind blowing wine. Had this at The French Laundry and this was probably the most aromatically complex wine I've ever had. Paired immaculately with duck. Our group was originally going to have two bottles of a really nice Barolo, and we subbed out one bottle for the Ponsot. While it made an odd side by side pairing, it also showed just how good this bottle was. I'm a huge Barolo fan, but it was entirely outclassed by the burgundy and it wasn't close.

I've never been good at listing wine aromas and honestly I don't care to because I don't find it all that useful beyond general categories. But this had a lot going on at once. Bits of forest floor with medium dark red fruit and some underlying cedar. Great acidity and structure.

This wine is one of the best 2 or 3 bottles of red wine I have ever had and single handedly has turned me into a Burgundy fan. I hesitate to call it life changing but I doubt I will ever be able to have a refined red wine and not mentally compare it to this ever again.

October 12, 2021 - Beautiful ruby color. Seductive, full nose of cherries, field flowers and a hint of Asian spices. Voluminous on the palate, restrained fruit, down with grippy but fine tannins and a menthol-floral aftertaste. Might benefit from 5 more years of cellaring but frankly already showing the bulk of its greatness.

    Well f*** a duck!
Plump red cherry fruit aromas. Medium plus acid, medium tannin. Loads of fruit presence to the nose. Almost an arresting level of fresh and chewy fruit to the nose. A portion of whole cluster shows to the nose, but really layered under all that generous fruit component. Wow.

January 14, 2017 - 2013 Grand Cru Horizontal tasting (Prince Wine Store, Bank Street, Melbourne): Red berry and cherry, quite fruit forward. Other attributes are muted but I also pick up cream, sweet spice and new oak. Zesty acidity, plentiful spice and quite dense tannins over red berry fruit. Okay.
