November 4, 2020 - Certainly not the most elegant SLB but this shows some lovely baking spice, smoke, menthol and licorice over a good base of dark cherry fruit. Chewy tannins make for a rustic finish but this has enough midpalate stuffing to go awhile yet. Impressive ripeness for the quality level, shows the old vine sap! the freshness (acid) of the vintage shows well here and makes for attractive drinking with food. Good style/expression otherwise. 90 (+)?

January 3, 2018 - Pop n pour. Dark red and black fruit. Blackberry. Punching way above its weight class. Delicious, rich, beefy. Should drink well for 5-10 years.
Open in the fridge for 3 days: Still wonderfully rich and juicy up front, then moving into minerals and spice, then finishing with a superb delicacy. 93 points.
