February 21, 2015 - From Portugal's warmer southern plains, extroverted and friendly with black cherry, plum and other red notes. Lovely sweet finish--not my usual favorite thing but this was particularly attractive. Sufficient tannic structure for 3-5 year cellaring. Group 1st, my 1st.

February 16, 2015 - Lighter than expected. Grabbed it out of our "box of random stuff" to put up against a stifado - it didn't suck but would have been better against a dish with a bit less oomph. Sour cherry is the big flavor for me, but my palate is somewhat skewed by tasting while I cook. :p Will buy and try again.
