Community Tasting Notes 3

December 7, 2020 - Awful! Dried out cork and wine the color of a Hep C urine culture. Has turned bad.

June 19, 2010 - Deep gold in the glass. Heavy paraffin wax scents with some citronella, honey and some light maybe tangerine or citrus. The palate has great weight but mediocre flavor, some light orange citrus flavors show along with the heavy wax and honey flavors. Drinking this at room temp also presents some heat on the finish. The fruit here is tucked way in the back behind the wax and honey. Drinking in an odd place, it's not offensive in any way, just not that compelling or delicious either.

February 27, 2007 - The Five Levels of Northern Rhone Drinking (Triomphe): 100% Roussanne, barrel-fermented sur lie and aged 8-9 months in 30% new medium-toast oak. Deeper-pitched nose than the Collioure, a little honeyed and petrolly as our European friends like to say (it sounds much better than "gassy"). In the mouth, oily textured and a little buttery, showing the oak influence IMO in contrast to the others in this flight where it was essentially invisible.
