March 26, 2024 - Nose of dried plums, tobacco and figs.

Spicy palate, with concentrated juice with earthy and blood orange aromas but perfectly balanced by good acidity which gives good freshness to the wine despite the sunny vintage. It’s powerful and with a beautiful emerging complexity. Finish with ripe but melted tannins, with a hint of menthol and cedar which extends to a good finish.

Excellent Brunello Riserva which I acquired at a fair price and which can still age peacefully.

September 26, 2022 - The nose has some decaying plant matter, salty plum, cassis, tobacco and dried fig. It is a ripe wine, but there is freshness here and the wine is in a good place. There's a suggestion of menthol and some cedar and ripe tannins carry the long finish.

August 9, 2021 - This was delicious! It was very well controlled the tannins have been aged into softness and the fruit has not gone away on the palate.

October 12, 2017 - Classic Brunello dark ruby color with earthy perfumed nose. Rich dried cherry and orange rind fruits with spicy tannins. It was a hot vintage so the fruit is sweet the wine is still complex and balanced. It has a powerful elegance and is surprisingly approachable now but will only get better with age. Will try to buy more.

January 21, 2016 - Benvenuto Brunello - Walk Around Tasting (Drake Hotel - Chicago IL): Tasting, brief note. Seemingly forward and ripe aromas, more backward and firm overall on palate. Same big fruit on both. Good potential here, especially for the 2009 vintage.
