April 30, 2024 - After four hours from opening... a waaaaawoooooooooooooo wine ๐Ÿท๐Ÿ‘

Dark partially clear bright ruby red color๐Ÿ‘

Full minus body. Medium plus acidity. Soft but well felt tanines. Smooth. Lovely structure๐Ÿ‘

Amazingly (more like addicting) aromatic, terroir, ageing, spices, barrels and red (also black) fruits ๐Ÿ‘

Rich, complex and a MN amazingly enjoyable on the palate: hazelnut, Marzipan, almond, mushrooms, leather, cheese, oak, vanilla, licorice, anise, pomegranate, raspberries, plum, and so more ๐Ÿ‘

    Wonderful ๐Ÿ‘

October 26, 2022 - Rather big rich, fruit filled brunello, with tons of unresolved tannins in the finish.
    Needs time, perhaps plenty. 90+

April 18, 2021 - This is in a good spot. Decanted the sediment and consumed over three hours. The acid and tannin are in check and complement the fruit, which is a rather classic take on Sangiovese. It has a bouquet of cherry with hints of leather, orange rind, and hints of forest floor. This easily could last another couple of years and may even improve from here. Would buy at $30 or $40, but not sure itโ€™s worth more than that. A fine wine from a great vintage.

March 30, 2021 - The deep, penetrating nose features dried cherry, well-worn leather, black plum, baking spice, and blackberry. On the palate itโ€™s medium in weight, but the long and finely grained tannins combine with a subtle core of acid to produce a wine of significant stature and layers. The flavor profile leads with a trio of bitter cherry, sweet strawberry, and savory blackberry, which is followed by pipe tobacco, tanned leather, dark cocoa, and blood orange. This is really nice now, and I can see the brightness of the fruit declining quickly from this point on.
