  January 26, 2021 - 3 bottles consumed over extended family Christmases in 2020 (several sittings to cope with COVID-19 restrictions on the size of gatherings). Golden colour. No acid. Pure honey on toast. No nuts that I could taste. Absolutely what an aged Hunter Semillon should be. At 24 years old just divine. I give a rating of 90 and a mild regret that I have no more of this vintage.

  March 31, 2012 - Semillon and Extras (Sydney, Australia): Honey, rocks and wax on the nose. The palate is starting to fade and drops away early. This bottle was heading past its prime but other bottles may or may not be better, I thought the last bottle I had 7 years ago was ready to drink so I guess this is consistent.

Aged oak-like nose, with sawdust aromas, and that developed straw-turned-honey note of old semillon. The palate is bone dry, is honestly only light-medium in weight but seems bigger due to the sheer intensity of flavours of lemon-butter on toast. Beautifully even along the palate, with medium acid still; it presents a fascinating mix of rich and honeyed flavours with a delicate weight and bone-dry finish. Remarkable, and the best Elizabeth I’ve tasted for 10 years.

  January 15, 2010 - Score reflects the wine over it's course - this bottle (last of a dozen purchase) was drunk well beyond the peak (given my storage conditions). Less nutty and honeyed than it has been and more toast but still a pleasant wine for lovers of this style.
