November 12, 2018 - This reminds me of a table-wine version of LBV Port. Deep, savory, minerally, this pours dark purple and has a richness that's also bone dry, with slate, baker's chocolate, and dried berry notes at the fore. A fine shroud of light tannins curbs this a bit at the end, suggesting further aging possibilities, although I doubt the flavor profile will improve much.

September 27, 2018 - All present and correct but a bit thin and not very exciting

March 31, 2017 - Dark purple core with crimson rim and orange and magenta reflections. Aromas of wet leaves, tomato leaf, steak fat, dried red cherries, underripe blueberries, sweet tobacco, plum, saline minerality. Palate has medium tannins, medium-low acidity, medium finish. This is a pleasant, if unremarkable wine, with a nose superior to the palate...something feels just a little flat on the mid-palate. I have no other frame of reference for baga as a variety, but I would describe it as pinot noir meets syrah, kissed by nebbiolo.
