August 21, 2022 - Light ruby, touches of tawny at the edge. Very fine sediment. Delicate and restrained. Beautiful subtle florals, wild cherry. In the mouth, the tannins are classic Barolo - not rough at all, but incredibly drying and prominent. With the roast lamb, the tannins magically melt away, leaving refined and delicate fruit. While this is currently excellent with food, I could see this wine transforming into something quite ethereal in a decade or so. Opens beautifully, gaining nuance, texture, and class. Tannins turn chocolatey with exposure to air in the glass. This is excellent, but could become something extremely beautiful in time. I would suggest a good three to four hours in a decanter at the current time. 94+

March 2, 2022 - First Wednesday Wine Club (Napoli in Bocca, Haberfield): Served blind.
Meaty, savoury, black fruits, black pepper, smidge of volatility, liquorice. medium plus intensity acidity, plentiful chalky tannic grip, alcohol warmth, black hued fruits, slightly off dry almost, leathery notes. Concentrated.

October 29, 2021 - Medium dark reddish garnet in color. Full, forward & aromatic nose of ripe fruit aromas of cherries, strawberries & plums with overtones of floral notes of roses & orange rind, earthy/dusty, tar, herbs, minerals & a hint of cedar. Full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of cherries, mulberries & plums, minerals, spices, herbs & a hint of oak in the background. Long lingering finish. Drinks quite well presently with decanting & extended airing (90 minutes) & even at 10 years old, it still has plenty of potential for further development with additional aging.

December 1, 2019 - Pale to medium garnet in colour with an overwhelming herbal/floral nose. Mint/menthol with some hibiscus notes. As it decanted, leather and roses started to come through. Light to medium bodied - thin but polished. Medium acidity masked by the smooth and powerful tannins. The short, dry finish was refined, but had us longing for more. Interested to see what the wine does in 5-10 years.
