Community Tasting Notes 4

March 4, 2018 - Quite similar to my first bottle. Clear, golden yellow color. Intense, complex and developing nose with lots of butter scotch, oak, yellow fruit, vanilla, smoke and spices. I like this nose a lot, even if it is not really Burgundian style.
Dry, full bodied. High, well integrated tannin, medium acidity. Acidity is now a bit unbalanced/ not harmonious. Lots of spiced oak, fruit, salt. Quite complex. Long finish. I would never guessed that this comes from Argentina, but certainly from the new world. This wine is clearly new world style, but has an excegood PQR for people likeing oaked Chardonnay. Because of the acidity becoming unbalanced, I guess the wine has not much potential any more. Drink up. 89+

March 9, 2017 - Had the '14 at a Moevenpick wine tasting in Düsseldorf. This was the best chardonnay offered and I bought a bottle to test it at home before buying more. However, the clerk gave me a bottle of the 2012 vintage. Sadly this was way over the hill. So my faith in old chardonnay wines, especially from Argentina, has vanished.

Exchanged the open bottle to a '14 at the shop without any problems.

October 8, 2016 - Glass: Riedel Vinum Syrah
    1 Glass poured with Coravin.

I would never guessed that this comes from Argentina, but certainly from the new world. This wine is clearly new world style, but has an excellent PQR in my opinion for people likening oaked Chardonnay. Joyful to drink now, but has the potential for further improvement over the next 5+ years.
