January 25, 2024 - Cavallotto Dinner (Acquerello, San Francisco): Dark ruby, much more saturated than the 2019. Heady nose with some VA and a strong whiff of wintergreen. Bigger, lusher, and lower acidity than the younger wine. Rich, sweeter palate, very chocolatey but more cherry pit as well. Lots of soil and some harshness from the alcohol on the finish. Too much for me and wanting more balance and restraint for all of its power.

December 24, 2023 - Ikke dekantert. Pen til lammegryte. Også etter, pen, men diskret nese, pen, typeriktig munn, men ikke en høydare.

October 14, 2023 - Very much like my previous bottle a year ago (autumnal wines these Baroli). Deep colour for a Barolo, moderate aroma of leather and rose. A bit more tannin, maybe, than the previous bottle. A bit more life and zest to this one. It works very well indeed with risotto and luxurious trimmings including baked baby tomatoes, sweet pea, and chicken with comté and serrano. A very good wine with food, but not one that will knock you over.

May 6, 2023 - Nice Barolo: leather, cherry, tar, tobacco, strawberry, forest floor, light to medium body, dry long finish.

November 26, 2022 - Agree that the nose doesn’t measure up to the classic barolo nose, but it is still nice: vanilla, cherry, oak. Strong acididty upon opening that integrated better with the medium-high tannin after getting some air. Black cherry and leather on the palate. Medium length finish.
