October 26, 2022 - Lunch at La Trompette (Medlar, London): Mellow, a touch of vanilla still to resolve. Bright acidity. Nicely savoury. Ground coffee, cool leather and a touch of beef. Texturally still quite rich. ***(*)

September 1, 2021 - Open for three days before I partook. Straight away on the nose with intense tar, smoke, dark flowers, dark fruit, unbelievable richness, some creaminess, maybe some savoury spice too. Palette comparable on juicy richness to the nose with the black fruit and flowers. Mouthwatering acidity balancing the richness. 30 plus second finish of fresh coconut.

August 29, 2021 - Drank over four days having been stood up for seven days. Saturated cork with minor seepage. Medium garnet fading to a pale garnet outer edge. Mocha, red plum skin, sour cherry, scorched earth, vanilla, and dill revealed themselves upon opening. With time aromas of damp forest floor, dried lilacs, slightly sweet red berries, blackcurrants, white pepper, and rusty nails started to emerge. The palate is in a great place in that there’s a harmony between primary, secondary, and tertiary characteristics. The fruit profile is very much in the dried red berry camp, with cracked vintage leather and dried earth providing additional layers.

April 6, 2020 - Medium ruby with brown hints. Nose of currant, sherry, cinnamon, shoe polish, earth. Elegant layers of cherry, red currant, leather, and a hint of vanilla on the palate. Lower acidity and smoothed tannin. Excellent balance and persistence. Long, whispered finish of cherry and strawberry fruit in a polished envelope with a bit of licorice and earth. Very nice with chicken paella.

February 14, 2020 - The nose was dominated by a green/stemmy note, which thankfully wasn't obvious on the palate. There were some sweet fruit and tertiary notes, but ultimately the impression was of a thin, delicate wine, perhaps overpowered by the other wines and food we had.

October 19, 2019 - Glistening ruby color with slightly brown edges. Voluminous nose of red currant, plum pits, hyacinth, leather, old oak, cinnamon. Bell-like clarity to the layers of elegantly lithe and vivaciously youthful strawberry, dark currant, vanilla nut, and tobacco elements on the palate. Moderate acidity and smoothed, slightly dusty tannin. Long finish of chiming red fruit laced with earth, tobacco, and a bit of charcoal. Great showing and wonderful with pork loin.
