February 5, 2021 - Green apple, smoke, a hint of tropical fruit, and oyster shells on the nose. Nice acidity with ripe apples, lemon, orange zest, and some spice from the oak on the palate. The oak has integrated nicely and does not stand out. Good finish. Very pretty CA Chardonnay, maybe a tad too ripe to really be great.

May 1, 2020 - Much better than the last bottle. Fresher, livelier, just opened.

March 26, 2020 - Quite golden and drinking at what I think is a very nice plateau. Savory reduction and a slight smokiness are among the dominant notes, but there's an aged richness to the fruit. Nicely gauged creamy malo notes pop up, along with mineral notes. It's a round profile, and clearly Californian, but not at all flabby. Medium / medium+ acidity keeps things in check, but it is far from "searing". This is a very nicely balanced version of classic California Chardonnay. I think it has a bunch of good years left in it, but I get the feeling that this will hold on, rather than evolving into something greater.

    August 31, 2019 - My last.
Drunk at its excellent peak. Opulent aromatic fruit core in classic Cal Chard style but with citrus and mineral elements providing sophisticated balance.
Won't get any better for keeping in my view. Drink up over the next year.
