March 3, 2023 - Clearly different to my last bottle. The fruit profile intact with ripe cherry, raisin, red currant and rose hip and blackberry. Tertiary notes however more pronounced such as leather, cigar box, tea leaves and port. Also some cloves and herbaceous notes present. Lacking balance at this stage (acidity) and slightly drying finish.

December 17, 2022 - Dense ruby with brownish rim. This bottle presented itself fairly advanced. Tertiary aromas on the nose right after pulling the cork. Flavours of cigar box, forest floor with quite some sherry, herbaceous, little dried red cherry and licorice. Good acidic spine and therefore still some joy in it with mature cheese.

Second day completely gone. Definitely not a representative bottle

August 14, 2021 - Dark bright red, just a touch of brick on the rim. Showed very dark red and black fruit with hint of milk chocolate and spice. Tannins are completely resolved and wine is fleshy and held together with complex fruit and just the right acidity balance. I do not think it is getting better but has years left.

March 19, 2021 - Acquired new and stored in professional grade cellar since. I wonder if some of the disparity in the reviews is due to the variety of storage?
Wine does have a huge amount of sediment. Did double decant and Vinturi and let the wine rest for 3+ hours. First taste immediately after decant but before the resting time, the wine was bitter and I had little hope for the wine at dinner. 3 hours the wine was very nice, lots of fruit left and wine seemed to me to be at its peak. Was the wine worth $95.00? No but that is a different issue.
