February 23, 2016 - Mid lemon colour. Incredibly buttery nose - thick vanilla sweetness - just what I was after. Broad and fairly sweet taste. Moderate complexity. Not as assertive as it could be, but otherwise a solid effort in the thick, oaky style. I know a lot of people dislike this kind of wine, but I hanker after it occasionally, and this hit the spot just fine. [Composite cork; 13.5% abv; Sainsbury's, on offer at £7].

May 1, 2015 - Pale gold. Smooth, buttery oak with faint caramel and summer fruit. Lingering finish with subtle apricot. More than one might normally expected at this price-point for a California Chardonnay.
