Community Tasting Notes 2

September 7, 2009 - Color is a deep dark purple with brownish tints on the edges. Was pleasantly surprised with the nose - At first just a musty aroma, then oaky, earthy mushrooms, and some fruity raspberries. Mouth feel was excellently smooth. At first, tastes of blueberries and black currants exploded onto the palate. After sitting in the glass for a bit, got flavors of cherries and oak, and the overall flavors seemed to dull down a bit. The moderate finish was extremely drying. Strong tannic structure throughout. Drink now for sure - was probably better in its youth.
