May 4, 2018 - Consumed two bottles on different occasions, performed consistently. A classically styled rosso with lots of cherry, leather, bamboo wood and herbal hints. Lively on the palate with medium body. It's a great weekday pizza wine.

March 29, 2018 - The nose showed bright cherry and strawberry up front with lifting dried red florals, cedar and brown spice. On the palate, I found soft, light-weight textures with zesty acidity giving way to tart cherry, hints of savory herbs and saline-minerality. The finish was medium-long with a bitter herbal twang, lingering acidity and the slightest hint of heat.

March 25, 2018 - 18 months have improved this wine significantly. This now strikes me as a very elegant, floral expression of Sangiovese. The finish now seems more in line with the medium bodied, restrained palate.

November 11, 2016 - Dark red fruits initially with some rusticness. Tannins were mostly resolved. Wine was drank rather quickly so not able to see it evolve, but a really well made wine. Would go with any typical red sauce pasta dish and on this night held up well against a lasagna.

July 17, 2016 - This is a solid Rosso. Ruby red color and a matching nose of bright red fruits. On the palate, this screams Sangiovese with bright cherry fruit and bracing acidity. The finish is a little thin, though. For me, the Pian dell'Orino still ranks as the top Rosso in this price ballpark, but this is a lovely bottle.
