December 18, 2021 - Slow oxed for 8 hours and decanted and drank over 3 hours. Initially still slightly closed but truly blossomed after several hours of decanting. Dark fruited with a beautiful fragrant nose this was the star of the evening for me and an easy 97. HMC

December 17, 2021 - Brought to the tasting by HMC.....slow ox'd x8 hours then decanted for 2+ more and it improved considerably as the night went on. To me this probably ended up being the WOTN. It was dark, rich fruit with a beautiful nose. Integration and depth of fruit is key with this one. Close to a 97 by the end of the night. Thanks, Jimbo!

June 20, 2021 - Informal notes at Vine Vault mega tasting 33 wines in all......all wines open 60-90 min by time they were consumed. Most were slow ox'd in bottle, some were double splash decanted, a few were straight decanted.

As good as the '17 but for different reasons. Loads of cassis, a hint of well integrated factors. A welcome break from all the young '17s and '18s from this evening. Still, the price point scares me off buying. I can find many others at half this cost that deliver this experience.

June 19, 2021 - One hour slow ox (needed a true decant). Deep dark garnet magenta color. Chocolate, violet, and cassis on the nose. Dry, satiny palate, with nice, subtly chalky acidity. Firm, full tannins on the long finish.

May 22, 2021 - 4 hour decant- similar review to my last one. Massive wine that is still in its infancy and requires a very long decant. Overall well balanced with a nice finish that is best enjoyed with hearty food. Should reach its prime in another 3-5 years and last for a long time.
