March 16, 2024 - A bit muted on the nose, but with air some dark fruit, brine, cherries, and a bit of leather emerged. Nice acidity on the palate and generally much more open with dark fruit, olives, bacon and classic Cote-Rotie flavors. Nice finish. This is really promising, but needs more time. It actually has quite a bit of power must most of it is hidden away and only emerged slowly with air. I'd let this rest another 10 years or so. 94++

July 23, 2023 - PnP. ABV 13%. After the knee bending ‘04 vintage recently, I am really curious about other vintages of Cote Brune. The first sniff is so floral, one can easily mistaken this for Burgundy. As it sits in the glass after aggressive swirling, more Syrah related notes emerge, some greenness appears too. On the first sip, comparatively more lean and less silky vs ‘04. Fine grained tannins with firm mid-palate, still too young but approachable. Good wine but not really showing the pedigree of this plot, maybe just too young. Nowhere nears the brilliant ‘04 vintage.

Denne var helt hinsides grønn, og ble heller ikke noe bedre utover kvelden.
    Klarte ikke fullføre glasset.

April 13, 2021 - An absolutely phenomenal bottle of syrah, from a weak vintage no less. The nose is all classic syrah, with pronounced black peppercorn, olive brine and smoke, but also sweet black fruit and a little meatiness. Not high-toned, but the aromatic intensity here is just off the charts. The palate is pure silk. It is svelte and shapely, but is also impactful and potent. Most importantly, the palate delivers on every single promise that the nose makes. This may well be the best Côte-Rôtie these days.

May 8, 2019 - Decanted for 3 hours before drinking. Peppercorn, purple flowers, and citrus fruit on the nose. At this stage, it did not display extra weight or complexity compared to the regular 14 Jamet.
