April 14, 2024 - Cork snapped on opening but thankfully able to rescue with Durand. Decanted through Vinturi for sediment, then tasted serially over next two hours. Agree with others it needed air to open up, but definitely ready and drinking well. Nose is deep with plum, dark fruit, raspberry, and alcohol notable at first. Nose reminds me of Insignia somewhat. On the palate, cigar box, plum, dark fruit, spice. Thick and mouth coating. No strong oak or vanilla notes for me but maybe with more air. Really lovely Bordeaux blend, I think the Merlot and sizable dolap of Cab Franc definitely shine through. 92+

    February 10, 2024 - Drank from a magnum at a restaurant.
We know that this wine needs air, which is really difficult at a restaurant, but, sometimes, magnums are more ready to drink than 750ml bottles. The wine did not really come into its own until about 2 hours after opening. At which point most of the bottle was gone. But the other 3 people at the table liked it, and the magnum was easily finished.

December 31, 2023 - 2nd of 4 bottles, last had this wine about 2.5 yrs ago.
Delicious Napa Bordeaux blend, thick cassis and plum, coffee grounds, some nicely moderated vanilla and wood notes.
Lovely on the finish, drink through 2028+.

December 4, 2023 - Still showing big red fruit. Smooth tannins. Beautiful now. Drink and enjoy. Long finish of black cherry, cassis, smoke and leather.
