February 4, 2024 - Purple color in the glass, notes of dark fruits on the nose and on the palette. Long, smooth, almost creamy finish. 14.5% alcohol, but you wouldn’t know it.

October 22, 2022 - Opened at a restaurant, and let it sit in the bottle for a half hour.
My first comment is that we have really, really, really been getting spoiled by our V-Spin. Where we can open a bottle, taste it, and pour it into the V-Spin for 5 minutes to compare.
A half hour in a bottle, not even in a decanter, was a dis-service to the wine. But, even so, one could tell that this was a very well made wine. Everyone at the table, all experience fine wine drinkers, liked it. But no one raved about it. Not necessarily a great value compared to other $100 bottles, but a very safe bottle to serve

October 6, 2022 - Solid cabernet that has all the right components in place. Ample black/red fruit concentration wrapped in sufficient cask influence that adds notes of mocha, chocolate, licorice and spice.

This showed very well - the tannins were rounded out and the full bodied alcohol had mellowed out.

June 2, 2019 - Tried Moone-Tsai in the past. Was underwhelmed, but after a couple of years away, I found the 2012 to be round, juicy and sweet. It was a welcome surprise, and a fabulous value.

December 28, 2018 - Friday night bottle. Second experience with Moone Tsai - first being last year and the 2011 bottling of this. Decanted for about 2 hrs before first sip, then drank over next 3.

I got a lot of blueberry fruit, tannins were not overbearing and resolved, very smooth finish. It was a crowd pleaser and did not disappoint. I think this would last another 5-10 easily.

You can get a bottle of this at Total Wine for about $80-85 after discounts which is a fair price for the memorable experience. Up there in my top 10-15 of wines consumed in 2018 - if I can remember them all!
