  April 15, 2023 - Another wonderfully balanced and structured Margaret River Chardonnay. It is the delicate use of oak that makes these wines so good, at least for me. Peach, meyer lemon, spicy oak, cream. Lovely.

  April 17, 2021 - A lot more going on in here than the age of the wine would suggest: it's clearly been worked by the winemaker (and that's not a bad thing). Whether or not actually correct, nose and palate immediately suggest wild ferment and MLF. Texture, texture, texture, with the wine needing about 30 minutes for the fruit to come out. When it did, moreso white peach/stonefruit than citrus or pineapple.
  
  Tasted side by side with a 2013 Devil's Lair 9th Chamber, both excellent but the difference was striking: the Cullen seemed like it had another 5 years on it, with the Devil's Lair still clean, structured and a few more years of development to go.
  
  A complex wine, one to sit with for a while, and as such I wouldn't hold on any longer.

  January 24, 2021 - Clear bright medium straw colour. Nose is clean and elegant, plenty of chardonnay identifiers like melon, nectarine, apricot, vanilla oak influence.
  
  The palate is gorgeous and roundly enjoyed by my guests who are wine club members. Its somewhat creamy, even buttery but not too much. There are flavours of peach, quince, apricot, yellow plum with some subtle vanilla oak. The structure is sufficient with some reasonable acidity cleansing the finish. Its got good flavours and went well with salmon quiche.
  
  Distinctly New World in structure in flavour and I like it a lot. I have a few vintages of this I will try over the next year or two.
