Community Tasting Notes 8

August 13, 2016 - With porterhouse. Lot of young berry notes, moderate tannins, medium finish. Decent, not remarkable.

August 8, 2016 - VS from corked wine.

January 10, 2016 - another pour: (opened for 24 hrs): color, nose, taste -- as before, and a tad less vegetal; overall: ordinary but pleasant everyday juice -- good with cheddar cheese, and probably also with burgers

12/13/15 - 83 pts - opened for 24 hours -- color: dark purple velvet; nose: earth x oak, a little cherry; taste: medium-bodied mouth feel, tastes of dark fruit and a touch of green pepper, medium-length finish with notes of tobacco and black pepper; overall: average value-price weeknight juice -- a tad better than plain ordinary, exhibits some youthful tightness as of Fall 2015, best days are probably ahead (2017-8?)

January 4, 2016 - medium mouth-feel, earthy aroma, hints of dark fruit. Overall nothing I really like about this wine, just sort of 'average' table wine.
Edit: adding a couple of points as it opened up quite nicely on the second day to become a rather enjoyable wine at this price point.

Nose: cassis, tar, black pepper, clove, vanilla, cola, spice, oak
Pal: cassis, cola, tar, clove, black pepper, vanilla, spice, oak
    Feel: medium, full
    Finish: medium, long
