August 22, 2018 - Tasty, dark, elegant, driven by jammy fruit, enjoyable, but lacking that pizzazz to take it to the next level. Good QPR for $18. Nice pop and pour but better on the second day.

April 7, 2017 - Initial open reveals strong alcohol on the nose, bouquet not overly jammy. Initial taste reveals much fruit, but it's balanced out by pepper, minerality, and astringency. Tannic but not overwhelming.

After opening, fruit develops and the tannins balance out nicely. Medium bodied.

March 26, 2017 - Definitely buy again. Got this bottle from total wine.

March 23, 2017 - Translucent, dark ruby color.
Big jammy raspberry aroma with a hint of something vegetal.
Flavors of raspberry, strawberry and just a bit of black pepper.
Not as "hot" as some Zinfandels at this price point.

January 17, 2017 - Tasted blind and decanted
More red fruit than black for myself on the nose showing raspberry and strawberry that both lean on the jammy side with notes of cassis that come with the hot presence of alcohol. Additional scents of toasted fennel, herbs, cardamom pod, rubber and flowers follow with a firm dry, hot wood note, reminiscent of a dry sauna.
On the palate a full bodied wine with, medium-plus acidity and wood tannins. Flavors transfer from the nose with jammy strawberry, cherry, raspberry, rhubarb, toasted fennel seed, dill, rubber band, vanilla and spice that pull through the moderate, somewhat clunky finish.

Overall a decent wine that just has some clunky elements.
