April 16, 2024 - Heidi's Crew at St Geneive Minneapolis "quarterly". CV,KB,LI,SS,CS&DD. Tonight was outstanding & so much so, the group voted to meet monthly going fwd. StG's menu tonight screamed Burgundy so that didn't hurt. How often does a Batard-Montrachet show up at a wine dinner??? Maybe once every 3yrs at the ones I frequent? This rare bird was wonderful tonight. Its best traits are its, sense of power, stunning length & fruit complexity. I loved it. Like other Pernots I've had it seems to beg for a bit more freshness & zip. If it had that, it would be a 97pter for me. Still, it outshines many a Puligny Montrachet with its complexity & power. 94-95 Thanks for sharing this Dave D!

April 16, 2024 - Heidi's Group: Oh My! (St. Genevieve, Mpls, MN): Light medium gold color. Drank a glass over 2 hours. It's been about 3 years since we last had this. Tonight's bottle shows the evolution nicely as this takes on more weight and richness now. Dense, full bodied and round, juicy fruits, orange and more citrus, touches of pineapple, subtle lemon cream, honeyed, loads of oyster shell and ocean minerality. Clearly shows it grand cru power and class. Excellent, and maybe even better in it's brighter youth?

December 28, 2023 - From own cellar, BYOB La Cagouille, Paris. Filigreed like an infusion of all typical Burg Chard notes e.g. lemon curd, white flowers, flinty notes , all interwoven in the most delicate yet persistent package. The complexity screams Grand Cru and and the alcohol is right where it should be no doubt thanks to the '14 vintage and its supreme balance. Ample palate presence and reach yet not the slightest hint of heat.

July 12, 2023 - Drank at Saltaire. No decant. Nose somewhat reticent--a bit floral, some nuttiness and honeysuckle. Big bodied burg, medium to high acidity, round mouthfeel. Some pear, some grapefruit. There's oak here but well-integrated. Good concentration, well-balanced. Lovely long finish. Very tasty wine, if slightly unctuous. A great wine with lobster.

April 23, 2023 - Incredible - one of the best white burgs I have ever enjoyed. Firing on all cylinders. Fascinating minerality and a note of lime pith and lemon zest on the extremely long finish
