November 16, 2023 - Showing some signs of age but nothing overt. It's got all that rich color I've come to expect from this wine. Big expression too. It still seems a bit jumpy to me. Open but not quite settled. Fantastic in moments. It certainly seems in a good spot in terms of maturity. These always capture your attention at any rate. Tasty and lots of time left.

September 17, 2023 - Showing definite signs of age, as one would expect. From the decidedly yellow color to the aromas of chamomile tea, honeycomb, and creamy lemon, this is mature and the fruit-forward flavors of peach, citrus and cream echo that. Surprisingly , this was likely better a few years ago.

July 3, 2023 - Burnt caramel, pineapple, yellow apple. New World style with plenty of vanilla. Clear signs of age but room to go another 10 years.

June 27, 2023 - Rich gold. Shy aromas marmalade, beeswax, dried flowers, a hint of vanilla. Round feel on the palate with unctuous fruit, preserved apricots, pickle juice, medium to high acids, low to medium alcohol (13.5%). A nice bitter lift at the back on the long finish. Nicely balanced, this is not a wow wine, more of a pleased to have met you wine. Very comfortable. So interesting to see how Chardonnay ages.

April 15, 2023 - Gold color. Apples, citrus, vanilla and floral in the nose. Apples, nectarines and peaches in the flavor. Very well balanced, the 2012 Mount Eden Chardonnay is a rich wine with nice acidity, very well balanced, and a long smooth finish. Impressive.
