Open but not quite settled. Fantastic in moments. It certainly seems in a good spot in terms of maturity. These always capture your attention at any rate. Tasty and lots of time left.

From the decidedly yellow color to the aromas of chamomile tea, honeycomb, and creamy lemon, this is mature and the fruit-forward flavors of peach, citrus and cream echo that. Surprisingly , this was likely better a few years ago.

July 3, 2023 - Burnt caramel, pineapple, yellow apple. New World style with plenty of vanilla. Clear signs of age but room to go another 10 years.

June 27, 2023 - Rich gold. Shy aromas marmalade, beeswax, dried flowers, a hint of vanilla. Round feel on the palate with unctuous fruit, preserved apricots, pickle juice, medium to high acids, low to medium alcohol (13.5%). A nice bitter lift at the back on the long finish. Nicely balanced, this is not a wow wine, more of a pleased to have met you wine. Very comfortable. So interesting to see how Chardonnay ages.

April 15, 2023 - Gold color. Apples, citrus, vanilla and floral in the nose. Apples, nectarines and peaches in the flavor. Very well balanced, the 2012 Mount Eden Chardonnay is a rich wine with nice acidity, very well balanced, and a long smooth finish. Impressive.
