December 11, 2020 - Uncorked 2 hours prior to serving into 薄はり葡萄酒器 (“Leaf” day): Bright pale ruby. Very good colours.
Reduction upfront that blew off, more cherry and earthy notes, some tarry and floral notes.
More minerality driven here. Again bright cherries on palate, white spices towards the finish. Texture wise, with lots of fine tannins in satin texture.
This feels very different from the last bottle and likely driven by the insufficient time for slow ox?
93 points.
Another hour into drinking (total 3.5 hours upon uncorking): A lot more camphor on nose and finally slowly opening up.
Almost 4 hours upon opening: On nose closer to the profile last time with more secondary notes. -

October 10, 2020 - Uncorked (without recorking) and bottle breathed in fridge overnight (13 hours) prior to serving into Zalto Burgundy glass (“Flower” day): Pale ruby to the eyes.
Truffle notes, floral perfumed nose with a very nice set of petite red fruits, lots of finesse here.
High and bright acidity, with very good spectrum of slightly dusty notes towards the finish, this is not probably your typical Monforte style (i.e. slightly more rustic, but integrated and without the edgy acidity structure of for example a Serralunga d'Alba), but a understated yet highly finessed wine here.
This is in a good place to enjoy now but some good 5-10 years ahead in my view. 94 points. -
