  February 2, 2021 - Wines from friends for my birthday. Not as enveloping as a bottle a few months ago, but chewy, throwback Santa Cruz Cabernet. I'm so glad Kenny is able to get this fruit. Usually, we go out to San Francisco this time of year and we would see Kenny and Lynn in the flesh, probably over dinner at La Ciccia. This year, this will have to do.

  September 15, 2020 - OK, here we go. This has moved forward substantially. Real density and old school mountain cabernet feel. This reminds me of the Mount Eden Old Vines cuvée before the vines were pulled out. These are the old, diseased vines from Ahlgren plot. More savory than those old Mount Edens. It's earthy, leathery and chewy with dense but fine tannin. The black currant and dark cherry/berry fruit is draped throughout entire structure with notes of tobacco both on top and on the finish. Really a great wine with room to grow.

  August 6, 2020 - Night 2=incredibly heady aromas with the palate following suit with incredible purity and depth. Black cherry and tart plum on the palate
  
  Agree on tobacco/olive as the savory elements
  
  Don't PnP!!!! Give it a decent decant. Pnp is considerably less expressive and the 25% new oak dominates the savory elements on the nose.
