Community Tasting Notes 5

February 6, 2022 - Christies bottling. Brought by a friend. Very muddy in the glass and with pear drops on the nose. Pushing through the funk there was still some fruit but way over the hill. A curiosity.

December 30, 2018 - Very interesting to taste. Had this together with the 1999 (which obviously was a better glass of wine), the 1985 had wonderfully tertiary notes of smoke, leather, coffee, herbs and spices. Had this with a cousin born in 1985, which made it even more fun to taste the wine.

September 30, 2013 - The wine pours a rusty red color with a brick orange rim. It has thin legs so I'm not expecting too much sugar or alcohol here. On the nose, there is a little funk, followed by some peppers, miso and strong notes of leather, mushrooms, tobacco smoke and hay. Sadly there isn't much fruit here. On the palate, the wine is quite silky and the tannins melded effortlessly into the wine. However, as with the nose, the wine is almost devoid of the fruit. In fact, the wine is slightly green. Despite its shortcomings, this Lynch-Moussas still boasts a captivating taste of mushrooms, fermented black beans, lead pencil shavings and leather. There is a remarkable acidity in the end as well. Not the strongest showing of what a Grand Cru Pauillac can achieve.

September 25, 2006 - brun/orange kant. Pæn lille næse med lidt blyant og svampe. Nydelig smag med lidt kort eftersmag. Skal drikkes nu, men er bestemt udemærket.

October 4, 1992 - Classic, stylish, noble oak and lovely fruit, not very concentrated but well-made, juicy, good length.
