February 18, 2024 - From Magnum, Same as prior note but moved into sweet spot after 4 hour decant, even smoother on Day 2.

November 28, 2022 - Day 1 - Decanted for 2 hours leaving plenty of sediment in the magnum bottle. wine was medium to dark garnet. Smelled mostly of earth and creosote. Tasted very different. Fruit was evident up front with Cherry and raspberry followed by earth and meat. Acidity was quite high but tannins were resolved.

Day 2 - The acidity has worked its way out leaving behind a smooth, floaty right bank Bordeaux. Increased score to 91 based on how beautiful and smooth it was.

May 13, 2022 - Dark purple black color. Heavy sediment. Cellar stored from inception, this wine was over the hill. Some faded and muddled blue and black fruit fruit, port notes, but tired and lacking sufficient fruit and backbone. I would think a Grand Cru Bordeaux could go longer than this but at least the price was very reasonable. Drink young or 4 plus years ago.

March 27, 2022 - Decanted a Magnum, bad experience with this wine the last two encounters. Massive bottle variation - this time in my favor. Medium bodied, flavors of red berries & cherries with some licorice. Far better experience this time around.

February 5, 2022 - Moderate sediment in the bottle, as expected. The wine is garnet colored in the glass, with medium legs. Immediate aromas of cherry, and tastes of cherry and plum. The body is medium. The wine has leathery texture and finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.

(Chateau Sansonnet) #3; COLOR-dark; NOSE-no notes; TASTE-this is a very dry, massive, fruit forward wine w/ a lot of fruit; very complex; it's also very young & tight as a rock that has the potential to cellar for 40-60 years; blackberry; black currant; lots of leather on the back-end; a little heat, but the youth is obvious; fleshy; black currant dominates; put away for 3-5 years; WS-92/94; GV-92+
