January 25, 2014 - Decanted 3 hours. Some firm, crusty sediment. This is medium/light color with some amber at the clear rim. Complex and delicately perfumed with dried berries, sweet spice and leather. This has now reached the time when the flavors are gently sweet and enticing while the tannins have softened to a supporting role. Fresh and quite classy, this would be a great ringer in blind flight of similarly aged Red Burgundy. This should continue to charm for at least several more years. Drink now through 2018.

March 17, 2012 - Decanted 3 hours. Light color with a touch of amber near the clear rim. The nose exhibits spices, dried fruits, leather and dried flowers. Soft and spicy flavors are bright and lifted with fine grained tannins. Overall, a feminine, Burgundy-like expression that finishes with dry cherries and sweet spice. Drink now - 2015

April 8, 2009 - decanted for 20 mins, still opened up over the next hour. A bit cloudy with fine sediment, muted reddish organge transtioning to brickish. Nose was packed with complexity lots of dried fruit (apple / pear not too sweet) somewhat of a suggestion of cognanc. On the palate it was very dry with aggressive tannins and notable acidity. Green apple skin and some interesting hints of walnut. Very long finsh. In general it is an excellently put together wine. It has lots of cellar potential and will drink better and better over the next 5 to 7 years, probably longer.

May 2, 2006 - Munich at Talamonti--probably needed more time to open. Pretty tight and unyielding, but lots of deep fruit underneath.
