Community Tasting Notes 4

July 1, 2018 - Strong varietal character with appealing peppery notes, typical of whole cluster fermentation. Pleasantly rustic, suave texture, deft balance, strong finish.

October 29, 2017 - A solid entry level Burgundy. Needs a little time in the glass.

  • guchl Likes this wine:

August 17, 2015 - Not bad on day one, really nice on day two.

Minty, cherry and spice nose. Body filled out after a day of air... Nice acidity and respectable finish. Thumbs up.

  • ashegedyn Does not like this wine:

July 4, 2015 - So I was anticipating a nice bottle given that this is not bought but from a hectare or more of land near Volnay. Nose is sour smelling, with cranberry, apple, and off notes from Brett. Almost a poor example of natural winemaking a la Chandon de Briailles but not as bad. On taste some sour cherry and nice length but out of balance with the tannins. Acidity works, but again, the off notes on the nose don't help this wine. Too bad. Expensive for a Bourgogne and I was hoping for a lot more.
