December 25, 2023 - Christmas with a wellington. Heavy cinnamon, baking spice, and savory mushrooms and herbs. Very very mild red fruit. 4 hour decant

December 12, 2022 - Our first Pomerol. Opulent. Very distinctive. Raw honey on the nose. Smoke, plum, pepper, jam with tanginess on the back of the palate. Medium length finish.
Best 1st day, by 3rd day falling apart and getting some harsh notes. -

May 18, 2022 - Dark ruby color with few blue-purplish hues of merlot. Nose is fleshy, almost California. I get a lot of sweet dark fruits and white pepper. Really nice palate. Rich body offset the fine-grained tannins suggesting merlot. Finish is warm red fruit. A lovely wine that’s perfect now and for the next few years— but it seems a little more New World than Pomerol. As I poured the last glass, I noticed a touch of sediment and a stain on the side of the bottle— I think I will wait two years for this wine to cast its initial sediment before my next bottle.

April 28, 2022 - Had at the Charlotte Wine & Food fundraiser at the Customshop restaurant in Charlotte in a line up of 2014 Christian Moueix R bank Bdx wines and the Ulysses of the same vintage. Drinking superbly right now, WOTN. In a good drinking window already and with at least a decade+ cellaring time to go - drink or hold. Big and full bodied, warm, balanced, complex and with a long aftertaste. Very dark purple, no bricking. Nose almost explosively aromatic with red cherry, strawberry, raspberry, lilac and cooking spices. Flavors up front of oak, stone fruit and ripe raspberry with brambles, red currant, coffee, smoke and a more vegetal note on the end. Highly recommend.
