August 5, 2017 - Upon opening, this was closed and inexppresive. We decanted it and gave it an hour to breathe. The nose was focused on smoke, smoked meat, olives and other dark notes. Very little fruit. On the palate, the wine was smooth with medium-low acidity and the same notes as on the nose. A friend initially thought this was faulty, as the palate started out somewhat disjointed with odd notes. With time, this was solved and it turned into a nice fairly light-bodied red.

April 10, 2016 - Rich, big, hearty with sanguine and briars flavors, blackberry.

April 2, 2016 - Elegant Grenache fruit, with distinct mineral profile, red fruit, fine acidity and a little licorice. Perfect right now, but can no doubt last at least 5 years. Should develope, but it is already really good!

December 25, 2015 - From a 1.5L bottle, this is really a very fine value. Dark crimson with aromas of black cherry, pot roast, pepper, and plum. In a rustic style, but very smooth, picking up a pine box element with time open. Seems young but in a good way. Very vibrant.

October 22, 2015 - Dark, moderately translucent cherry color. Quite ripe and dense but not particularly expressive nose with somewhat reticent aromas of ripe blueberries and plums, some licorice, a little bit of smoke and a hint of earthy garrigue. The wine is moderately full-bodied, super-juicy and somewhat chewy on the palate with ripe flavors of succulent dark berries, dark plums, some licorice, a little bit of savory spices and a hint of meatiness. The wine seems to be quite nicely structured with its moderately high acidity and firm, somewhat grippy tannins. The alcohol shows a little. The finish is ripe, quite spicy and somewhat grippy with quite savory flavors of dark plums, ripe blackberries and juicy boysenberries, some licorice, a little bit of savory old wood and a hint of earthy garrigue.

A good, firm and ripe yet not particularly big or sweet-toned southern Rhône red. Not a bold or flashy wine, but that's why I like it. Doesn't feel as sweet, jammy and big as Châteauneuf-du-Pape, but shows more grip, structure and depth than your run-of-the-mill Côtes-du-Rhône. Nice and enjoyable; drinking well now, but I see no reasons why you couldn't cellar this wine over short-to-medium term, perhaps even longer.
