February 20, 2011 - Washington Red Retrospective (Dennis' Place on Erie): Surprised with this wine. Showed really well - everyone agreed. More ruby in color. More blue fruit driven as a whole.
A little burnt caramel. Rose petals, touches of liqueur. Rusty, cinnamon. Hints of dirty trail with iron gates, cola, maybe even Dr. Pepper.
Palate is nice. More of that metallic play with slivers of green bell pepper. Some savory flavors. Only a tad austere on the back end. Really nice wine.

March 15, 2010 - Decanted for about an hour. Smooth and very drinkable.

July 15, 2008 - Pop and pour. As MagnumGourmet noted it starts very green but that mellows out over a couple of hours. I did find that the fruit came through with time although the green elements, bell pepper, tomato leaf and celery stick around. Personally, I like the green elements in Cab Franc and that is why I buy it. This has very good varietal character but I don't think it is for everyone.

April 29, 2007 - A little simple and sweet but extremely tasty, lots of fresh blackberry and cherry fruit with quite a bit of vanilla wood. Palate more of the same, drinks very well, sweet with upfront fruit and a juicy, mildy tannic backbone. Have had more memorable WA cab franc's - this was good, but not great.

January 27, 2007 - Popped and poured. Started very green, thought that the fruit might be underripe, but at 14.5% alcohol not sure how. Over an hour the wine improved slightly with more smokey notes. However, the green element never really went away. Tannins were present but not overwhelming. Not much fruit to speak of. Was hoping for more and I got dissapointed. Would not purchase again.
