  September 3, 2015 - This wine challenges the categories. I am evaluating it as if it were actually a rosé, but it has a caveat. Decanted off of some sediment. Slightly peachy, pale cherry color. Earthy, rooty nose with tea and rhubarb notes. Light-bodied on the palate, bright, with red-fruit flavors tinged by a bit of funk. It's suitably brisk. After about 90 mins. it opened up, more like a red wine would, but the earthy notes are still there. Finishes fast. Funky and minerally aspects are interesting, but they set this wine back if you consider it a rosé. This wine is better if you treat it like a red: decant it and give it some air. Had I done that the number would have been higher. Silly me I guess. 83=good.

  May 23, 2015 - Murky strawberry bubble gum with salmon hues in the glass. Pungent nose of zest, potpourri, white pepper, strawberry, bing cherry, citrus and wet slate minerals. Med-lite body with striking angularity and complexity. The pungent aromatics carry onto the palate with mouthwatering strawberry bubble gum, zest, spice, dried flowers and slate. Secondary tangelo and BBQ mango. Short finish. Definitely a rose for wine nerds.
