November 22, 2023 - Cloudy in appearance. The nose is truly memorable - perfumed, soft, a little stemmy, ever so slightly lactic. Soft red fruit, spices, mushrooms, undergrowth… On the palate spicy and fresh, again a pleasant hint of greenness, totally seamless without being flabby, very gentle and elegant. Vibrant, seriously long finish. Wonderful. Drink or keep. 95-97

April 30, 2022 - Been a few years. Crazy cloudy and brown. High toned perfumes and spices on the nose. Not as broad as the other 04s. Vibrant and tart. Amazing character and you have to be ready for this experience.

April 7, 2022 - So, pretty amazing wine for the vintage, and the general consensus is that 2004 is coming around far better than expected. I think this is true. This was a small sample from the end of a bottle, significant sediment but the texture of this wine is just flawless. Quite a bit of sous bois and stemmy notes, well integrated with morello cherry. Perfectly sound. If one were to fault, maybe a little one dimensional, but it is silky and absolutely delicious.

August 27, 2021 - Marked acidity and structure. Rather light and evolved gradually, would have liked a couple more hours ideally. Lesser showing compared to the last bottle. 5305/5440.
