Community Tasting Notes 1

  • Tim Heaton Likes this wine:

July 11, 2015 - Really lovely stuff. Light salmon color, bright and clear. Opened a little too cool, which kept the aromas in the mineral/sea spray camp at first. By the second glass, feminine notes of cherry, white raspberry, minerals and faint white floral. Seemed to add a little weight and come out of its shell fully as it warmed past 55F; the last glass was the best. I'm already kicking myself for not purchasing additional bottles (I believe the local market has sold out). If you get excited by obscure whites from the Loire with near-electric acidity, this is your wine - and mine, too :D

13,0% abv., served non-blind. Better with the salad (read: marinated anchovy/mustard/balsamic dressing) course than the oysters Rockefeller.

** fwiw, the variety on the label is listed as Petit Gris, not Pinot Gris **
