    Vino in splendida forma .
    100% Sangiovese

September 28, 2016 - Montalcino Trip- Day 3 (Querce Bettina & Canalicchio Franco Pacenti) (Montalcino, Tuscany, Italy): Nose: The nose was quite perfumed and lifted with strawberries, red cherries, licorice, spice tones, and a lot of red florals. There is excellent balance to this with excellent depth, especially for a rosso.

Taste: Medium bodied with medium+ acidity and medium+ tannins. The tannins are silky and refined whilst the feel has a femininity to it along with strawberries, red cherries, licorice, spice tones, and some fresh picked berries.

Overall: This is an outstanding Rosso di Montalcino. There is a delicate quality to it, but it also favors the upper register and elegance over sheer power. This is a real delight from such a small estate.
