October 10, 2021 - PnP this was surprisingly heavy and dense - quite a powerhouse.
Still quite opaque with no real sign of bricking.
Rich black fruit and a waft of oak immediately hits the nose and shows similarly on the palate with notes of fig, dried fruit and a touch of dark chocolate.
With more time open it began to soften and integrate a little suggesting it will benefit from more cellar time. Tannins were moderate and not harsh drinking on its own but the intensity meant it paired well with steak (not my usual pairing with riojas)
Open now with a few hours decant for a sumptuous glass now or otherwise try holding a few more years to see if this can become a little more refined. -

August 28, 2021 - This needs an hour to open up. Balanced and integrated. Drinking well. Not a lot of extra time in this.
