January 19, 2024 - In the decanter 3 hours prior to drinking, drank over a couple hours. Deeply coloured, garnet, dense and opaque. A densely packed meaty and hearty shiraz, with ripe red and black plums, redcurrant, mixed berries, charcuterie and still quite a bit of cedar oak, albeit not over powering and fades over time. Grainy tannins slowly round, however at a ripe, [modest] 14.5% this feels a tad out of balance with overripe heat but no heat, and doesn’t quite roll over the palate. A big wine, perhaps better with food, but wont be for all. In a good space now, drink over the next few years.

June 4, 2022 - Ripe blackberries with sweet vanilla, a hint of licorice and a bit of cooling eucalyptus. Fresh acidity and powdery tannins.

At the ripe end for cool climate Shiraz, but still showing a lighter alternative to Barossa. Really good.

February 10, 2020 - Presenting deep blackberry notes on the nose with a full palate followed by soft tannins but they still sit behind the oak with a long palate still a youthful wine suggest another few year still before opening the next bottle Clare does present great fragrant red wines.

May 5, 2018 - A full bodied wine with dark berry ripe fruit and spices on the nose with a medium body on the palate with ripe sweet fruit firm but soft tannins has length and power on the finish a very impressive wine needs a good scotch fillet ..copper trail is under rated and people should get onto this wine. Wine maker Alex Mackenzie is a bit of a master with his wines also underrated glad I have a few more of this one
