September 22, 2021 - A little harsh at first but it opened up with decanting and a little time.

March 26, 2021 - Still going strong! Did a tasting for the bottle over 4 days, wine was best in Day 1&2, Day 3 was fine, Day 4 not preferable but drinkable.
In each day, a glass was pour and consumed with same cheese. On each day, wine was brought to tasting temp, and improved over the next 1.5 hours.

Day 1 has the most black, plummy fruit, vanilla, oak, good mouthfeel but a little thin mid palate, med finish. Day 2 showed the most complexity, great balance of fruit (mostly black, hint of dried red fruits), still smooth in the mouth with tertiary notes of tobacco & smoke. Day 3, fruits has more red tone than black, finish still decent with some complexity. Day 4, drinks more like a restaurant table wine, still works but not preferable.

Wine has aged well and surprisingly resilient and tasty. Probably still good for 2 years

October 9, 2020 - Wow! Aged 8 years and it seems perfect. A great balance of fruit, spice, acid, tannins and earthiness. Better initially then it smoothed out over time, leaving a smooth, licorice leather taste. Tastes phenonal in riedel sommelier glasses vs no name glasses.
