    August 27, 2023 - drank from a magnum
initial fuzziness resolved over the 2 hour decant
then freshness older syrah fragrance on the nose
the fuzziness returned for a minute at around 4 hrs from opening but resolved quickly
beautiful earth and syrah that was mature
not gonna get better from here imo so drink up

January 12, 2022 - So i drank the twin of this bottle six months ago and score it 93 points. It was nearing perfect. This bottle fell short. PAST DUE.
    Ruddy red, a little milky.
That stewed tomato sauce nose. Sloppy and unstructured. VERY disappointing. #sad

smoked a Nat Sherman Timeless (PRICELESS) HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MOI!

June 27, 2021 - Deep, dark, rich burgundy in color. Full bodied.
Loads of blueberries off the nose. Baking spices. Some cocoa and mint.
Silky smooth. All flavor notes well integrated. Tastes like the nose, with some additional fruit leather nuances. Medium plus finish. Wow! This wine is delicious. Won't get any better. At its peak. Drink now, but should hold up easily over the next two years. Delicious.

December 25, 2020 - I think this is my last '04 Saxum. They've been described in detail by people with palates much better than mine. My only comment is that the wine is young and fresh on opening, but fades somewhat in about two hours, so the drinking window may be closing.

August 31, 2019 - Beautiful-deep-Rich dark fruits-slightly earthy/gamy without significant funk. Long smooth and seamless. Perfect with roasted leg of lamb

(Saxum Broken Stones) Reticent, vanilla, plum and grapey nose, that eventually turns to a floral and blueberry nose; rich, concentrated blackberry, blueberry, plum and sweet vanilla palate with sweet tannins; medium-plus finish (75% Syrah, 22% Grenache, 3% Mourvedre)
